Again is was a very tiring stretch of class. Four hours is a bit too much for me to perform. I love the teacher. My fellow student is okay as well. I don't think she is happy to have me there.
I mistook what was the homework for yesterday, but I did enough to be okay.
Some of the class activities are strange. We see videos of strange people. Today it was a short bit on a take off of Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany" Why not some Costa Rican pelicula? But I think I got my homework done right tonight.
The cab rides were more expensive today. For some reason we could not get Uber. Still, expensive is $7.
We walked to two banks and finally got money without a huge fee (we hope) We also found a bath mat, un alfombra. Expensive at $11, but it is a really good one from a bathroom supply house and will keep us safer in the slippery shower.
I bought three steak knives and they are very sharp and much better than the poor knives here. I'll take them home with me.
We got some food at Mas x Menos, but we will get more interesting things at the indoor market today where we will have lunch with a fellow American, Roberto. I try to distance myself from Americans, but he asked us and he seems interesting, living in Idaho and North Carolina, selling a small campus for Spanish studies near the Idaho house.
I was up twice, but feel quite rested. This is a grand house. Two bedrooms makes the nights comfortable for both of us.
We did cheat and watched some English television news and sitcom. I can tell that it detracts from my thinking in Spanish, but Spanish television is too hard for Elizabeth, or even me, for that matter.
