We took an uber to San Rafael. While we could not enter the cathedral, we did get a peek into it when cleaners left the door ajar. Also, the outside structure was really impressive and delightful.
We sat in the fine plaza park across from the church. It was very fresh due to a very strong wind.
We hoped that the church would open at 3 PM, but perhaps we misunderstood the cleaners. We did hear the bells ring the hour. It was all nice with a few pretty, long haired girls to enhance the view.
In the distance were the clouds touching the mountains reminding us of MonteVerde.
After we walked around the area, we went to the restaurant we had found on line.

I had a corvina with vegetables. They assured me this was from the sea around Costa Rica and not from Vietnam where it seems Swai is also a substitute for that whitefish.
The vegetables with it were fine, especially with their own hot sauce. A salad came as well. I've had this meal so many times now that it is my staple here.
Elizabeth had salmon and some fine looking mashed potatoes. They provided some homemade chips and three salsas, but one seemed to have sugar.
It was great service. I tipped a couple extra bucks on top of the 10% in the bill.
I also had a small taste of Imperial beer, just a couple swallows with Elizabeth drinking the rest. What a great beer!
We used their wifi to get an Uber back. Nice. On our way we got in the wrong car. A guy said "Uber" but he was not our Uber and it was confusing once we got in and he had no idea where we were going. Just as we were trying to communicate, our real Uber came and we hopped out and went in the right car. We have to pay more attention to license plates. This fake fellow said both Uber and yes when I said "Elizabeth." It could have turned out badly.
We were home soon and it was just enough of an outing. I bought three red peppers at a little vegetable stand there, It was odd. Three peppers were bagged and I was given a slip to pay 810 colones and sent to a cashier who was not at her station. I handed it to the butcher. He redirected me and laughed. I got my change wrong and she corrected it and took the rest of my change for bills. I think it was good to have the change in her register.
In the gardens around the church were extensive plantings of roses. Some were in bloom. Just delightful!
